Ausschreibung der Komposition eines
Pflichtstücks für den 8. Internationalen
Rosario-Marciano-Klavierwettbewerb 2016

• BESETZUNG: Klavier solo.
• SPIELDAUER: Minimal 4 bis maximal 5 Minuten.
• SPIELTECHNIK: Ohne Präparationen des Klaviers oder zusätzliches Instrumentarium.
• PRÄMIE für das ausgewählte Werk: Euro 500,-
• TEILNAHMEBERECHTIGT sind Komponist(inn)en aller Nationalitäten bis 45 Jahre (Stichtag: 15.2.2016). Ausgeschlossen sind Komponist(inn)en früherer Pflichtstücke für den Rosario-Marciano-Klavierwettbewerb. Der/die Komponist/in des prämierten Werks ist von der Teilnahme am Rosario-Marciano-Klavierwettbewerb 2016 ausgeschlossen.
• FORMAT: 5 vollständig ausgedruckte Kopien im DIN A 4 oder „Letter“-Format.
• EINZUSENDEN AN: Vienna International Pianists, Rauchfangkehrergasse 11/1/5, 1150 Wien, Österreich.
• EINSENDESCHLUSS: 15. Februar 2016 (Eingangsdatum).
  
• DAS WERK soll den Pianistinnen und Pianisten im Wettbewerb die Möglichkeit zur Demonstration sowohl ihrer musikalischen als auch ihrer technischen Fähigkeiten geben.
• VERÖFFENTLICHUNG: Die Komposition soll bis einschließlich 5. März (das prämierte Werk bis einschließlich 21. August) 2016 nicht veröffentlicht oder öffentlich aufgeführt werden.
• EINSENDUNG: Die Ausdrucke des Werkes sollen anonym, mit einem selbst gewählten Kennwort versehen, in einem mit demselben Kennwort versehenen Kuvert eingesandt werden, gemeinsam mit einem weiteren verschlossenes Kuvert, auf dem auch das Kennwort angegeben ist und das ein Blatt mit Namen, Anschrift und Email-Adresse, eine Kopie des Reisepasses und eine kurze Biographie der Komponistin oder des Komponisten enthält.
• TEILNAHMEGEBÜHR: Euro 25,-, zahlbar unter Angabe des Kennworts bis 15. Februar 2016 (Eingangsdatum), auf das Konto Vienna International Pianists, IBAN: AT95 3200 0000 1202 3172, BIC (SWIFT): RLNWATWW.
• DIE ENTSCHEIDUNG fällt bis zum 5. März 2016 durch eine
  JURY, die voraussichtlich aus folgenden Vertreter(inn)en der internationalen Komponist(inn)enszene und der Vienna International Pianists bestehen wird:

  • Jorge Sánchez-Chiong
  • Judit Varga
  • Stephan Möller (Vorsitz).
  Die Entscheidung dieser Jury ist unanfechtbar. Die Gewinnerin / der Gewinner wird unverzüglich per Email (wenn vorhanden, sonst postalisch) benachrichtigt und gebeten, ihre / seine Bankverbindung bekannt zu geben und ein PDF des Werks zwecks Einstellen zum Download auf der Website www.pianists.at bereitzustellen.
• DIE PRÄMIE für das ausgewählte Werk wird spätestens zwei Wochen nach dem Erhalt der Bankverbindung und des PDF ausbezahlt.
• PFLICHTSTÜCK: Das Werk wird als Pflichtstück in der 2. Runde der Altersgruppe I (18-30 Jahre) und im Abschlusskonzert des 8. Internationalen Rosario-Marciano-Klavierwettbewerbs (15.-21. August 2016) im Ehrbarsaal in Wien aufgeführt werden. Es darf auch von TeilnehmerInnen der jüngeren Altersgruppen gespielt werden. Die beste Interpretation wird mit einem Sonderpreis prämiert.
• ABGELTUNGEN: Den teilnehmenden Komponistinnen und Komponisten entstehen keine Ansprüche auf irgendwelche Abgeltungen aus Aufführungen oder Ton- und Bildaufnahmen während des Klavierwettbewerbs.
• RÜCKSENDUNG: Die nicht prämierten Werke können auf Wunsch der jeweiligen Komponistin / des jeweiligen Komponisten zurückgesandt werden. In dem Falle ist ein adressiertes und ausreichend frankiertes Rückkuvert den Unterlagen beizufügen.
• AUSSCHLUSSGRÜNDE: Werke, die den oben genannten Richtlinien nicht entsprechen, mit unvollständigen Unterlagen eingesandt werden oder für die keine rechtzeitige Einzahlung festgestellt werden kann, werden vom Wettbewerb ausgeschlossen.
• GERICHTSSTAND: Wien, Österreich. In Zweifelsfällen ist allein der deutsche Text maßgebend!

Invitation to compose a compulsory piece
for the 8^th International Rosario Marciano
Piano Competition 2016

• INSTRUMENTATION: Piano solo.
  
• DURATION: Minimum 4, maximum 5 minutes.
  
• TECHNIQUE: No preparations of the piano or additional instruments allowed.
• PRIZE for the selected work: Euro 500,-
• ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to composers of all nationalities up to 45 years of age, as of February 15, 2016, at the exempt of composers of compulsory pieces of previous Rosario Marciano Piano Competitions. The composer of the winning work will not be allowed to participate at the Rosario Marciano Piano Competition 2016.
• FORMAT: 5 copies, fully printed in DIN A 4 or "Letter" format.
• ADDRESS: Send to: Vienna International Pianists, Rauchfangkehrergasse 11/1/5, 1150 Vienna, Austria.
  
• DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: February 15, 2016 (date of receipt).
  
• CHARACTER: The work should give pianists the opportunity to show both their musical and their technical skills.
  
• PUBLISHING: The composition must not be published or be performed in public up to and including March 5 (the winning composition: August 21), 2016.
  
• SUBMISSION: The printouts of the work must be sent anonymously, marked with a self-chosen password, in an envelope, marked with the same password, together with another sealed envelope, on which again the password is given, containing a sheet giving the full name, address (postal and email), passport copy and short biography of the composer.
  
• PARTICIPATION FEE: Participation fee: Euro 25.-, to be paid giving the password by February 15, 2016 (date of receipt) to the account of Vienna International Pianists, IBAN: AT95 3200 0000 1202 3172, BIC (SWIFT): RLNWATWW.
  
• THE DECISION: The jury will reach a decision by March 5, 2016.
  
• THE JURY: The jury members will be representatives of the international composers' scene and the Vienna International Pianists, presumably:

  • Carol Morgan
  • Jorge Sánchez-Chiong
  • Judit Varga
  • Stephan Möller (president)
  The decision of the jury is final. The winner will immediately be notified via e-mail and asked to disclose his / her bank account information, as well as submit a PDF copy to be made available for download at the website www.pianists.at.
  
• PRIZE: The premium for the selected work will be paid no later than two weeks after the receipt of the winner’s bank information and the PDF copy.
• COMPULSORY PIECE The work will be played as compulsory piece in the second round of the age group I (18-30 years) and in the final concert of the 8th International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition (August 15 to 21, 2016) at Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, Austria. It may also be played by participants of the younger age groups. The best interpretation will be awarded with a special prize.
  
• REFUNDS: No compensation claims will arise for the participating composers from any performances or sound or video recordings during the piano competition.
  
• BACK-SENDING: The submitted scores of the non-winning works can be returned on request. For that case please enclose a return envelope, sufficiently stamped and self-addressed, with the other documents.
  
• REASONS FOR EXCLUSION: Works that do not meet the above guidelines, are submitted with incomplete documentation or for which no timely deposit may be found will be excluded from the competition.
• JURISDICTION: Vienna, Austria. In all cases of doubt, only the German text will be applicable!
