SUNGSUK KANG South Korea/Austria

darf sich einer internationalen Karriere erfreuen, die sie quer durch Europa, nach Asien sowie nach Nord- und Südamerika geführt hat. Ihre zahlreichen Aufnahmen und Einspielungen für internationale Radio- und Fernsehstationen umfassen Klavierkonzerte von Bach, Mozart, Schumann und Rubinstein, Solowerke von Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Debussy und Berg sowie diverse Kammermusik-Aufnahmen.
In Seoul, Südkorea geboren, hat Sung-Suk Kang schon im Alter von 5 Jahren ihren ersten Klavierunterricht erhalten und später am prestigereichen „Seoul Institute of the Arts“ studiert. Außerdem studierte sie in Singapur, in England am Royal Northern College of Music bei Derrick Wyndham und der Hochschule für Musik in Wien bei Paul Badura-Skoda. Sie besuchte Meisterklassen von berühmten Persönlichkeiten wie Vlado Perlemuter, Joseph Kalichstein und Pascal Rogé.
1990 gewann Kang in einem Wettbewerb einen von wenigen, besonders begehrten Studienplätzen am weltweit renommierten Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, wo sie mit einigen der führenden internationalen Künstler wie Luis Claret und Zoltan Szekely auftrat.

enjoys an international career that takes her across Europe, to the Far East and to both North and South America. Her many CD recordings and broadcasts for leading international radio and tv networks include concerti by Bach, Mozart, Schumann and Rubinstein, solo works by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Debussy and Berg plus various chamber music recordings.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Sung-Suk Kang received her first piano lesson at age 5 and went on to study at the prestigious Seoul Institute of the Arts. Further training in Singapore was followed by intensive studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK with Derrick Wyndham and the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna with Paul Badura-Skoda. She participated in master classes given by the likes of Vlado Perlemuter, Joseph Kalichstein and Pascal Rogé.
In 1990, among just a handful of other musicians, Kang received one of the very desireable study-places at the world-renowned Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada,. Here she performed with leading international performers, such as Luis Claret and Zoltan Szekely.

GEN MATSUYAMA Japan

Gen Matsuyama studierte Klavier an der Hochschule für Musik Köln bei Aloys Kontarsky und Kammermusik bei den Mitgliedern des Amadeus-Quartetts. Seit seinem Debüt in Tokio 1978 unternahm er zahlreiche Konzertreisen in Japan und anderen asiatischen Ländern, sowie nach Europa und in die USA und wirkte als Pianist, Juror und Dozent an internationalen Festivals, Kursen und Wettbewerben mit. Von 2000 an hielt er sich mit einem Stipendium des Kulturaustauschprogramms des japanischen Kultusministeriums als Gast der Humboldt-Universität in Berlin auf. Zu dieser Zeit war er auch Gastprofessor an der Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin.
Gen Matsuyamas Repertoire erstreckt sich neben der klassisch-romantischen Klavier- und Kammermusik insbesondere auf die westliche und asiatische Avantgarde. 2010 erhielt er den 28. Kenzo Nakajima Musik Preis. Seit 2004 ist er Mitglied und Vertreter des Klangforums Berlin.

Gen Matsuyama studied piano at the Music University Cologne with Aloys Kontarsky and chamber music with the members of the Amadeus Quartet. Since his 1978 debut in Tokyo, he has performed numerous concert tours in Japan and other Asian countries, to Europe and the USA. He has been frequently invited as a pianist, juror and lecturer to international festivals, masterclasses and competitions. From 2000, he held a scholarship from the Cultural Exchange Program of the Japanese Ministry of Culture as a guest of the Humboldt-University in Berlin. During this time, he was a guest professor at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK).
Mr. Matsuyama's repertoire extends not only to the classical and romantic piano and chamber music, but also to works of the Western and Asian avant-garde. In 2010, he received the 28th Kenzo Nakajima Music Prize. Since 2004, he has been a member and representative of the Klangforum Berlin.

Stephan Möller wurde in Hamburg
geboren. Er erhielt seine Ausbildung als Pianist und Dirigent in
Hamburg, Bremen und Salzburg. Von 1983-89 arbeitete er bei den Salzburger
Festspielen mit Dirigenten wie Herbert von Karajan zusammen. 1985
war er Preisträger des Internationalen Beethoven-Klavierwettbewerbs
Wien. Seine Konzerttätigkeit führt ihn durch ganz Europa,
die USA, Japan und China. Schwerpunkte seines Repertoires sind Beethovens
32 Klaviersonaten und 5 Klavierkonzerte, Liszt-Paraphrasen über
Wagner-Opern und Kompositionen für den Bösendorfer-Computerflügel.
Unter seinen CD-Einspielungen finden sich Raritäten wie Beethovens
Große Fuge und Wagners gesamtes Klavierwerk. Stephan Möller
lehrt an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst

Stephan Möller
was born in Hamburg. He studied piano performance and orchestra
conducting in Hamburg, Bremen and Salzburg. 1983-1989, he worked
at the Salzburg Festival with Herbert von Karajan. In 1985, he was
a prize-winner at the international Beethoven Piano Competition
in Vienna, Austria. Stephan Möller is busily concertizing all
over Europe, the USA, Japan and China. Repertoire highlights are
Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas and 5 piano concertos, Liszt´s
concert paraphrases on Wagner's operas, and compositions for the
computer-assisted Bösendorfer grand piano. Among his CD recordings,
there are such rarities as Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge and Wagner’s

KARINÉ POGHOSYAN Armenia/USA (a, e, r)
Die armenische Ausnahmepianistin Kariné Poghosyan wurde für ihre Fähigkeit gelobt, in die Herzen der Werke, die sie aufführt, zu gelangen. Sie machte ihr Orchesterdebüt im Alter von 14 Jahren mit Beethovens Klavierkonzert Nr. 1 und ihr Carnegie-Hall-Debüt mit 23 Jahren. Seitdem erhielt sie zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Auftritte in einigen der renommiertesten Konzerthallen der Welt.
Kariné Poghosyan, eine passionierte Musikerin, die als "außergewöhnlich" und "überlebensgroß" beschrieben wurde, spielt in bedeutenden Konzertsälen in den USA ebenso wie in Festivals und Konzertreihen auf der ganzen Welt. Der "Armenian Mirror Spectator" schrieb: "Die dreisätzige Khachaturian-Sonate - eine selten ausgeführte Komposition - ist für die virtuose Pianistin eine echte Tour-De-Force. Technisch untadelig, brachte Frau Poghosyan die motorischen Qualitäten der Ecksätze ebenso hervor wie die herzzerreißende Schönheit des mittleren Satzes".
Frau Poghosyan ist als Solistin mit zahlreichen Orchestern wie der New West Symphony, dem Park Avenue Chamber Symphony Orchestra, dem Musica Bella Symphony Orchestra, der CSUN Symphony und dem Kokolo Ensemble sowie dem Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, dessen musikalischer Leiter Frau Poghosyan als "Publikumsmagnet" und "geborene Bühnenkünstlerin" charakterisierte.
Frau Poghosyan ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher Wettbewerbe und hat zahlreiche Stipendien erhalten. Sie lebt derzeit in New York, wo sie an ihrer Alma Mater Manhattan School of Music lehrt. Ihre neue Solo-CD von Aram Khachaturians Klavierwerken und Ballett-Transkriptionen erschien 2015 auf NAXOS-Label und wurde von vielen Kritikern sehr gelobt.

The exceptional Armenian pianist Kariné Poghosyan has been praised for her ability to get to the heart of the works she performs. She made her orchestral debut at 14 playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.1, and her solo Carnegie Hall debut at 23, and has since gone on to win numerous awards as well as perform in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls.
An avid musician who has been described as “extraordinary” and “larger than life,” Kariné Poghosyan has performed in major concert-halls all over the US, as well as in festivals and concert series all over the world. The Armenian Mirror Spectator wrote, "The three-movement Khachaturian Sonata—a rarely performed composition—is a real tour-de-force for the virtuoso pianist. Technically pristine, Ms. Poghosyan brought out the driven qualities of the outer movements, and the heart-rending beauty of the middle section.”
Ms. Poghosyan has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras including the New West Symphony, Park Avenue Chamber Symphony Orchestra, Musica Bella Symphony Orchestra, the CSUN Symphony, and the Kokolo Ensemble, and the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, whose music director Dr. Choe described Ms. Poghosyan as “an audience magnet” and “a born performer.”
Ms. Poghosyan is a prize-winner of numerous competitions and has received many scholarships. She is currently based in New York, where she teaches at her alma mater Manhattan School of Music. Her recent solo CD of Aram Khachaturian’s piano works and ballet transcriptions was released 2015, on NAXOS label and was highly praised by many critics. back

Eugenie Russo wirkte in der CBS-Fernsehserie „Bernstein-Beethoven“
mit und veröffentlichte zahlreiche CDs mit Werken amerikanischer
Komponisten wie Gershwin und Copland, aber auch der Wiener Schule
und zeitgenössischer Musik. Sie ist Artist-in-Residence an
mehreren amerikanischen Musikhochschulen und leitet eine Klavierklasse
am Josef-Matthias-Hauer-Konservatorium in Wiener Neustadt. zurück

HELMUT WEIHSMANN Austria (g, e)
HELMUT WEIHSMANN, wohnhaft in Wien, erhielt ein Diplom in Architektur an der Technischen Universität Wien. Seit Erlangung seiner Lizenz im Jahr 1980 hat er freiberuflich als Historiker, Kritiker, Kurator und Dozent an verschiedenen Universitäten und renommierten Institutionen in Österreich, Deutschland, Großbritannien, den USA und der Türkei gearbeitet. Er leitet derzeit das Forschungsprojekt „Urbanität & Ästhetik” auf nationalen und internationalen Institutionen oder Verbänden des Bundes Deutscher Architekten BDA. zurück
HELMUT WEIHSMANN, a resident of Vienna, received a master’s degree in architecture from the Technical College of Vienna. Ever since obtaining his license in 1980 he has been freelancing as a historian, critic, curator and teacher at several universities and prestigious institutions in Austria, Germany, Great Britian, USA and Turkey. He is currently the director of the research project „Urbanity & Aesthetics“ at national and international institutions or chapters of the architect’s league BDA in Germany.back

GÜNTHER ZERBES Austria (g, e, f, i, s)
GÜNTHER ZERBES wurde am 21. Februar 1964 in Wien geboren. Medizin- und Gesangsstudium an der Universität Wien und der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien bei Prof. Adelheid Schmid und Prof. Rolf Sartorius. Günther Zerbes war Chorsänger im Wiener Madrigalchor und seit 1990 im Wiener Staatsopernchor. Daneben geht er einer regen Unterrichtstätigkeit im Fach Gesang sowie in mehreren Fremdsprachen nach. Er war jahrelang als Solist einer reisenden Operntruppe tätig, als Bariton im angestammten Fach sowie Ausflüge ins tiefe Bassfach. Neuerdings ist Günther Zerbes erfolgreicher Leiter mehrerer österreichischer Chöre. zurück
